A Brief Introduction to the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge

In a bid to cooperate in national development and improve the comprehensive transportation system and expressway network of China and the three regions of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) has been jointly built by the three governments of Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao.

The HZMB was inaugurated on October 23, 2018 and opened to traffic at 9:00 am the following day (October 24), marking a closer link between the three regions and serving as a more convenient commuting mode.

The opening of the HZMB not only brings infinite opportunities for the economy, people's livelihood and logistics of Macao, but also brings a convenient transport network to the citizens of the three regions. In the future, the HZMB will allow citizens to travel directly between Hong Kong and Macao through point-to-point self-driving tour or different means of cross-border transport and become a more flexible option for citizens apart from the current sea route to Hong Kong.

The governments of the three regions will strive to improve and optimize the facilities and services of the HZMB to maximize its benefits. The HZMB, credited as one of the most important infrastructure constructions in this century, has opened up a new situation for the Pearl River Delta Region. Let's look forward to it together!
